New to silversmithing? This 8-hour, Saturday workshop is for both the novice and advanced student. Learn to make jewelry using a variety of materials and metals, or advance your existing skills. Learn basic lapidary including how to cut, grind, and/or polish quality stones and set them in jewelry. Participants will complete at least one piece of finished metal work or jewelry.

Glass fusing is the melting of several pieces of glass into a single piece which can be used to create jewelry or other works of art.  Students will learn the basics of glass fusing and slumping including cutting glass, design considerations, stringers, frits, diachronic glass, the use of diamond saws and glass grinders and how to prep, maintain and fire a kiln.

An introduction to nonferrous metal casting techniques.  This course is geared toward casting with an emphasis on jewelry.  Students will learn the entire lost wax process, including preparing the wax form, creating a plaster mold, burning out the wax and casting a piece of jewelry.  Basic wax working and finishing techniques will also be covered as well as the proper use of tools and equipment.

An introduction to nonferrous metal casting techniques.  This course is geared toward casting with an emphasis on jewelry.  Students will learn the entire lost wax process, including preparing the wax form, creating a plaster mold, burning out the wax and casting a piece of jewelry.  Basic wax working and finishing techniques will also be covered as well as the proper use of tools and equipment.
